Okay. Firstly let me say that I truly appreciate the immense amount of support that I have received both publicly and privately. Much of it has been akin to being granted that unusual privilege of being able to read one's own obituary! (often to the point of my own personal embarrassment)
However, I want to clear this issue once and for all so that I can move on to doing what I really want to do with this blog and so that you can read what you really want to read on this blog.
It has been my decision and my decision alone to move my posting activities from the forum to this venue. I have covered the reason in my previous entries and intend to say no more on that matter. (Should it be "'I've got nothin' more to say 'bout that" ?)
I have not established this blog in any way to mount a sustained attack on the forum or to diminish any value that others may find in the forum. (even though there are probably substantive issues about this forum and forums in general that do deserves to be discussed - somewhere). I certainly do not want others to determine their own activities based on my own personal decision (even though I appreciate enormously the sentiment that many have expressed in suggesting what their future actions will be.)
Referring specifically, for a moment, to the very talented, dedicated and knowledgeable group of people who are interested in CST, I offer the following. The importance of you and your cohesion surpasses the importance of the venue in which you "meet". In other words, do not diminish the value of the group simply because I have a personal issue with the forum. Indeed, I hope that my contributions to the group via this venue will add to, rather than subtract from the value of the group.
I really look forward to your comments and interactions in this blog, both about CST and the other more general investing matters that I will be addressing. However, a blog cannot be seen as a replacement for a forum - if for no other reason other than that the blog software is not structured in that way. I will always do my very best to both sponsor and contribute to any discussions that ensue from your comments.
Hopefully, in time, this blog will become another valuable resource that adds to the resources that we already have - as has "Rogs most excellent blog"
Tomorrow is a brand new day. Let's get back to business.
Hi Forrest,
ReplyDeleteI have only today found your new forum. I have subscribed and look forward to ongoing discussion and analysis of CST - and the generous contribution of your considerable capacities.
CST prospects have not really changed since those early AGMs and the shared taxi ride.
The five years+ delayed lead time has required enormous loyalty from us true believers, and our super funds. However, here we are still hanging in.The beneficiaries of our estates, in due course, will be gtrareful for our endurance.
Thanks for the latest projections.

G'day Tony,
ReplyDeleteI remember those days (and of course the taxi ride). Great to hear from you again.
You are correct in that the beneficiaries of our estates will be very grateful to us. However, we will be reaping the rewards ourselves long before we are, in turn, reaped. :)
